One morning Bliss woke up in a shock,
Her house looked like it had been hit by a rock.
Her shoes, her bags, her treasures so dear,
All disappeared—poof!—they weren’t here!
Was it a ghost, or a trick, or a big, yellow Dick?
Bliss knew right away it was one of his tricks!
It was a quiet morning on the Funny Farm—or, at least, that’s what Bliss thought as she sipped her coffee, savoring the peace that usually came with dawn. Serena (formerly known as Petunia) was lazily wandering the yard, practicing her yoga bleats, when suddenly, the tranquility was shattered by an alarming bleat-bleat-scream.
“Bliss!” Serena shouted, darting into the house like a sheep on a sugar rush. “Come quick! It’s chaos!”
Bliss shot up, knocking over her coffee. “What now?” she muttered, already bracing herself for the latest in Dream Whirld’s series of oddball occurrences.
She dashed into the house and froze. It looked like a tornado had rolled through. Drawers were pulled out, furniture overturned, and worst of all, her prized collection of shoes, bags, and her most favorite sparkly accessories were gone. All of them!
“Holy guacamole!” Bliss exclaimed, picking up an empty shoebox with a mix of disbelief and rage. “Who could’ve done this? And why my favorite boots?”
Serena blinked, still standing in the doorway with wide eyes. “Do you think it was… Dick?”
Bliss frowned. “If there’s anyone on this farm with a knack for making a mess, it’s him.” Dick, the yellow jackass formerly known as Ned, was always scheming—usually to ruin Bliss’s perfectly dreamy plans, but never with much success. Still, this time he had gone too far.
Bliss clenched her fists, anger bubbling up. “Right, Serena, grab your sleuth hat. We’re going detective mode on this one!”
The two of them marched straight to Dick’s sorry little shack next door. The closer they got, the more suspicious things seemed. First, there were random socks strewn across the grass—one of them unmistakably Bliss’s, covered in glitter and pom-poms.
“Bingo,” Bliss muttered. “This is the work of a clueless klepto.”
The duo crept closer, and sure enough, there he was—Dick—sitting in his sad lawn chair with a mountain of Bliss’s clothes, shoes, and accessories piled around him. But that wasn’t the most absurd part. No, Dick was wearing her favorite glittery cowboy boots, strutting back and forth like he was on some twisted runway.
Bliss gasped. “He’s stolen my entire wardrobe to play dress-up!”
Serena could barely contain her laughter. “Look at him! Those boots don’t even fit!”
Bliss shook her head, exasperated but also slightly amused. “Alright, this is enough.”
“Dick!” she called out, marching up to him like a woman on a mission. “What in the name of Dream Whirld do you think you’re doing?”
Dick, ever the picture of clueless arrogance, looked up and grinned. “Well, I found all this stuff lying around, so I figured I’d, you know… keep it safe.” He did a ridiculous twirl in Bliss’s boots, almost falling over.
Bliss folded her arms and gave him a pointed look. “Oh really? Keeping it safe by hiding it in your shack and parading around in my boots like a discount cowboy?”
Dick, trying to save face, puffed out his chest. “You don’t understand. This is high fashion!” He stumbled as he attempted another runway walk. “These boots? Top-tier. That purse? Pure class. You wouldn’t appreciate the level of—”
Bliss interrupted, unable to hold back her laughter. “Oh, trust me, Dick, we all appreciate your ‘fashion sense.’ But you’ve got five seconds to hand it all back before I turn this into a full-on farmyard fiasco.”
Dick’s bravado faltered, his face flushing a deep yellow (if that’s even possible for a yellow jackass). “Alright, alright! I was just… borrowing! I didn’t think you’d miss it so soon!” He scurried around, throwing the stolen items back into Bliss’s arms, one by one.
“Borrowing?!” Bliss cried, throwing her hands up in disbelief. “You don’t ‘borrow’ someone’s entire wardrobe and then wear their boots to practice your catwalk!”
Serena was doubled over, trying to stifle her laughter. “He does look kinda… fashionable in a terrible sort of way.”
Bliss shook her head, grinning. “Fashion icon or not, we’re turning this around.”
She had an idea. If Dick wanted to play dress-up, she was going to let him—but on her terms.
By the end of the week, Dream Whirld had its first-ever “Runway Showdown: Dick’s Fashion Faux Pas!” With posters plastered everywhere and farm animals lining up to witness the spectacle, Bliss had turned the robbery into a fashion event that had the whole farm talking.
Dick, still recovering from the humiliation of being caught, reluctantly agreed to model for the show. “I’m telling you, Bliss,” he grumbled, “this is beneath me.”
“Beneath you?!” Bliss laughed. “Dick, you’re wearing my purple feather boa. I’d say you’re exactly where you belong.”
As the show began, Dick strutted down the makeshift runway with all the grace of a drunk giraffe, his face a mix of embarrassment and forced bravado. The animals howled with laughter, especially when Dick tripped over a pair of glittery heels he tried (and failed) to walk in.
Bliss stood at the end of the runway, laughing harder than she had in months. Not only had she gotten all her things back, but she had turned Dick’s ridiculous heist into the farm’s most successful event yet. The proceeds from the show? Enough to buy Dream Whirld a brand-new wardrobe and a fancy new barn upgrade.
As Dick made his final wobbly exit, Bliss high-fived Serena. “Well, that’s another win for us.”
Serena bleated happily, her eyes sparkling with joy. “Bliss, you always know how to turn things around.”
“Of course I do,” Bliss winked. “In Dream Whirld, we don’t let anything—or anyone—get us down. Especially not a fashion disaster like Dick.”
And with that, the two of them walked off into the sunset, leaving Dick to trip over his heels one last time.
