Boundaries as a survival skill.
Healing doesn’t mean I’ve forgotten.
It doesn’t mean I’m okay with what happened.
It doesn’t mean you get to pull up a chair
and pretend you didn’t hand me the wounds
I had to learn to stitch.
I’m healing.
But I’m not a doormat in disguise.
And I don’t hand out backstage passes
to people who tried to burn down the f*cking theater.
You don’t get to clap for my progress
from the same mouth that used to shame it.
You don’t get to stay close
just because I stopped screaming.
This isn’t revenge.
It’s regulation.
I used to think love meant keeping everyone.
Now I know peace means keeping the right ones.
I didn’t do all this work
to sit across from people
who confuse guilt trips with apologies.
So let me be clear:
I’m allowed to grow
without inviting the past to watch.
I’m allowed to walk forward
without dragging the ones
who always pulled me backwards.
Healing is mine.
And so are the boundaries that come with it.
🧠 Emotional Takeaway:
You don’t owe space to people
just because they’ve “known you a long time.”
You don’t owe forgiveness on demand.
You don’t owe anyone your presence
while they still haven’t earned your peace.
Healing doesn’t mean staying.
Sometimes healing means leaving faster this time.
🪞 Reflection Box:
They called it unforgiving.
I called it finally safe.
Because your growth should never require
making room for the ones who clipped your wings.
🎤 Just because I’ve found my light
Doesn’t mean I dim my fight.
You watched me drown—don’t claim my shore.
This healing’s mine. You get no more.
I rise in peace. I cut the chain.
I don’t rebuild where there’s still pain.
You had your time. I found my way—
Just ‘cause I’m healing… doesn’t mean you get to stay.
