39. Heavy Roads, Broken Promises: Writing Whirld Begins

The road was long, the sky a blur,
Bliss had a lot she had to endure.
The visit was tough, the weight was real,
But this wouldn’t stop her—she’d spin the wheel.

With a laugh from Dick and Ned’s cruel words,
Bliss knew it was time to fly with the birds.
She’d build her Whirld, her writing dreams,
And make her success more grand than it seems!

Bliss sat behind the wheel of her car, driving down the long, winding road back to Dream Whirld, the Funny Farm. The trip to visit her cousins had been an emotional rollercoaster—one big, chaotic, messy reminder of how wild and unpredictable life could be. Their home had been a complete wreck, with the cousins locked away in their room, leaving the kids to fend for themselves. Addiction had gripped the family hard, and Bliss, despite her best efforts, couldn’t fix it. The situation weighed heavily on her, but something even heavier loomed in her mind.

It was her mother’s broken promise. The will had been changed last-minute, and the inheritance Bliss had counted on to fund her writing project—Writing Whirld—was gone, vanished into thin air. Her mother had promised to support her dream, to help her turn her chaotic past into something meaningful. But now, all that was left was disappointment and betrayal.

Bliss clenched the steering wheel, but instead of tears, a fire rose in her chest. The anger was there, sure, but more than that, she felt a burning determination. She didn’t need anyone’s inheritance to make her dream come true. Writing Whirld would happen, with or without the money. After everything she’d been through—her childhood struggles, the chaos of the farm, and the endless sabotage from Dick—Bliss had learned one thing for sure: nothing and no one could keep her down for long.

The long drive became her turning point. Every mile she passed, every tree that zoomed by, helped clear her mind and focus her energy. She thought about Writing Whirld, the project she had been dreaming about for years. It was going to be her way of turning all the madness of her life into something beautiful, something that could help others. And now, more than ever, Bliss knew it had to happen. Writing Whirld was going to be her story of triumph, and it was going to succeed—no matter what obstacles stood in her way.

But just as she was gaining clarity, there was Dick.

As soon as she pulled into the driveway of the Funny Farm, Dick, the yellow jackass, was there, leaning on the fence, grinning like he always did. He hadn’t wasted a moment before hurling another ridiculous comment her way. “Heard about the will, Bliss,” he said, his voice oozing mockery. “Guess your mom finally figured out you weren’t worth much, huh?”

Bliss gave him a side glance, feeling that familiar sting of his cruel words. But this time, instead of letting them get under her skin, she just smiled. “Thanks for the input, Dick. I’ll be sure to keep it in mind when I’m cashing my royalty checks from Writing Whirld.”

Dick blinked, momentarily confused. “Royalty checks? From what?”

“From my book, obviously,” Bliss said with a wink. “You think I’ve been sitting around waiting for someone to hand me success? Please.”

Meanwhile, the crows had gathered in the trees above, cackling in their usual foul-mouthed manner. “Dick’s a loser, caw caw!” one crow squawked, swooping down just close enough to peck at Dick’s hat before flying out of reach.

“You’ll be eating crow before this is over, Dick!” another cackled, flapping its wings mischievously.

Dick waved his arms in frustration. “Get lost, you stupid birds!”

Bliss stifled a laugh, her heart lighter than it had been in days. She knew the crows had her back, in their own twisted way. “Don’t worry, Dick,” Bliss said sweetly. “I’m sure one day, after you’ve eaten enough crow, you’ll figure it all out.”

As she headed inside, Serena was waiting for her, the usual look of calm on her face. “How was the trip?” she asked, her tone gentle.

Bliss sighed, but there was a fire in her eyes. “Rough. But you know what? It’s time. It’s time for Writing Whirld.”

Serena smiled, sensing the shift in her sister’s energy. “I knew it would be.”

Bliss sat down at her desk, opened her laptop, and began typing. Word by word, her story poured out. Writing Whirld wasn’t just an idea anymore—it was her future, and nothing could stop it. Not the broken promises, not the chaos of life, and certainly not Dick’s constant attempts to drag her down.

As the crows outside continued their relentless teasing of Dick, and the ducks quacked encouraging words like “Believe in yourself!” and “You’ve got this!”, Bliss knew one thing for sure—this was just the beginning.

When life throws curveballs and things feel bleak,
Don’t let your dream turn mild and meek.
Take those lemons, make some pie,
You’re stronger than you think—just aim for the sky!

With every step, you’ll find your way,
Turning setbacks into triumph each day.
Bliss knew the power of her writing dream,
And now her farm’s more grand than it seems!

When the world says no, you say yes,
Push through the chaos and all the mess.
Your dreams are waiting, just take the lead,
And soon you’ll find you have all you need.

So don’t let setbacks darken your way,
Keep moving forward, come what may.
Just like Bliss, you’ll find your stride,
With hope and laughter by your side!

Turning Setbacks Into Motivation: How to Channel Life’s Challenges into Creativity

Life is full of unexpected setbacks. Whether it’s a broken promise, a lost opportunity, or someone trying to undermine your success, these challenges can feel overwhelming. However, it’s possible to take these setbacks and turn them into fuel for your goals. Here are some key strategies for turning life’s challenges into motivation:

  1. Reframe the Setback:
Instead of viewing a challenge as an obstacle, try reframing it as an opportunity for growth. Ask yourself, “How can I use this experience to push myself forward?”
  2. Set a New Goal:
If a door closes, find a new one to open. Use the setback as an opportunity to redefine your goals and aim higher than before.
  3. Use Your Emotions:
Anger, sadness, and frustration are powerful emotions. Channel them into your work—whether it’s writing, art, or another passion. Let these feelings fuel your creativity.
  4. Surround Yourself with Positivity:
It’s easy to let negativity drag you down, but surrounding yourself with positive people and supportive environments can make all the difference. Find your “Serena”—someone who believes in you and lifts you up when things get tough.
  5. Stay Resilient:
Success doesn’t happen overnight. It’s the result of perseverance and resilience. Keep pushing, keep working, and keep believing in yourself, even when the odds seem stacked against you.

Thanks for stopping, we’re so glad you came,
The Funny Farm’s growing, and building its fame!
With Bliss and Serena, there’s always more fun,
Come back real soon—our story’s just begun!
